Swiss corporate tax got even cheaper!

Following on from our update about the recently announced tax reform in Switzerland, see below the new Swiss corporate tax rates for the most popular cantons which will become effective as of 1st January 2020, once they are officially approved by each canton. After the reform enters into force, Switzerland will be even more attractive for investors, with one of the lowest corporate tax rates in Europe.

This is especially true for cantons Zug and Zurich: Zug is set to have the lowest corporate tax rate in Switzerland at 11.91%, while canton Zurich plans to reduce its rate by almost 3%. The rates of cantons Neuchâtel and Schwyz are expected to undergo very minor changes, with a decrease of around 1-2%, whilst Luzern’s rate will most likely remain the same at 12.32%. The most significant change in accordance with the newly announced rates will be in canton Geneva, with an expected reduction from 24.16% to 14.00%.
