Popularity of Swiss Companies on the Rise
Please note that our office will be closed for Easter break from Friday April 19th until Monday April 22nd.
Here is a little news from our neck of the woods regarding the use of Swiss companies at the moment:
Popularity of Swiss Companies on the Rise!
During the first quarter of 2019 there were 11,578 new companies entered in the commercial register in Switzerland. This is the highest number of start-ups ever recorded by the Swiss Commercial Register since its establishment and a 5% increase in comparison with the previous year. The gender distribution has remained fairly stable over the last few years, with around 27% of all company start-ups being made by women.
The Impact of Brexit
Due to the lack of clarity surrounding the current Brexit negotiations, private bankers at Credit Suisse have advised clients to consider moving assets out of the UK.
Wealth managers in London have also reportedly been contacting their top customers to warn that long-drawn-out negotiations and increasing uncertainty had already caused a stream of clients wanting to invest their assets elsewhere.
Aside from the Channel Islands, Switzerland is becoming an increasingly popular choice for the relocation of assets as clients begin to set up new investment accounts. We are available for any enquiries regarding your considerations of an alternative jurisdiction.
